Understand what type of audience you have and why they come on social. There are 3 types of people who use social

    1. Some people use it for social interaction, sharing memes, and chatting; others for entertainment through jokes, photos, and videos; and others for staying informed on current events.
    2. For the socially motivated, use personal stories and behind-the-scenes glimpses.

    Encourage Engagement and Interaction

Boost engagement on social media through open-ended questions and conversations with followers. Asking what people think about a topic or their experiences leads to sharing opinions and stories. Respond to comments and join the discussion. Nothing is more engaging than a genuine back-and-forth.

    • Run social media contests and giveaways.
    • Post behind-the-scenes photos and videos.
    • Mention influencers and other brands through tags.
    • Poll followers for opinions on new products or services.

Track key metrics to measure engagement over time. Adjust your strategy based on the data.

    Crafting Compelling Visual Content

A picture really is worth a thousand words. When it comes to social media, visual content reigns supreme. Photos and videos drive the most engagement across all platforms.

If you want people to notice and engage with your posts, focus on crafting visual content that captivates your audience.

    Share eye-catching images

Post photos that make people stop and stare. Use bold colors, interesting compositions, and professional-quality images whenever possible.

A striking image will capture attention and prompt more likes, comments, and shares. You can create your own images or find royalty-free options on sites like Unsplash or Pexels.

For product-based businesses, share professional photos of your items. Remove the background and place the product image onto an eye-catching background using a background remover tool like Slazzer. This makes your product the focus and gives it a polished, professional appearance.

    Post native video

Video is highly engaging, so post clips natively on social platforms whenever you can. Keep videos under 2 minutes for the best engagement.

Show behind-the-scenes footage, do an interview or Q&A, share an educational how-to, or post a fun time-lapse. Platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok heavily favor native video content.

    Use multimedia in your posts

Combine visual content with text, emojis or gifs. A photo with an interesting caption or call-to-action will get more engagement than a photo alone.

Overlay text on your photos or add animated text or stickers. Tag other accounts and use hashtags to make your posts more discoverable.

    Provide Value, Not Just Promotion

Give them useful information, tips, stories or advice without constantly pushing your product or service. Build trust and loyalty by showing you genuinely want to help them.

    Share knowledge and expertise

    • Provide helpful tips, tools or resources. For example, recommend useful apps, books or online courses. Link to relevant industry reports or studies.
    • Answer common questions. See what people are asking about in forums or social media and provide helpful responses. Then turn some of the best answers into posts.

    Tell stories

    • Share stories of how you or your customers overcame challenges or achieved goals. Stories are highly engaging and help build connections.
    • Interview industry influencers or experts. Feature their insights, experiences, and advice. This provides value to your followers and also helps raise your credibility by association.
    • Post case studies of successful projects or collaborations.

    Offer free resources

    • Create useful tools like workbooks, worksheets, checklists, templates, infographics, or video tutorials.
    • Host free webinars, online courses, or video series.
    • Curate lists of the best resources in your industry. For example, top influencers to follow, must-read books, or most useful apps. Share links to all the resources in your list.
