He said “We had a theatre house not far from where I resided in Lagos back in the day. Actors congregated in the evenings to practice, and whenever they did, I would head over to see what they were up to. The individual who was scheduled to play the role of a priest wasn’t available one day, so they asked me to fill in for him, which I did. That was the seed of my interest in the performing arts.”

Actor Lalude is happily married and the father of three children, one of whom, Ifawale, is an aspiring actor who follows in his father’s footsteps professionally.
Lalude has three children, one of whom is Ifawale, who, like his father, is interested in traditions and is well-versed in Yoruba customs. He decided to move to Ibadan because after giving birth to his set of twins in the largest city in Nigeria, he arranged to stay there with his family.

One day, while we were at the National Theatre for rehearsals, our then-chairman, Yinka Quadri, asked me what stage name I would like to use, and I told him I preferred Lalude. On the job, I wasn’t given that name. I came up with the moniker for myself. I was originally Fatai Adekunle Adetayo, but when I decided to pursue a career in theater, I changed my name to Lalude
